RW is a battle-tested trial attorney whose criminal law and family court skills have been proven in the highest courts in the State. He has argued cases before the Kansas Court of Appeals and the Kansas Supreme Court.

RW decided to start his own firm to have a better opportunity to directly help others dealing with criminal law and family court legal problems in Johnson County, Kansas; as well as the Kansas City Metro area. He has the knowledge and compassion to guide you through what can be a very complicated criminal law and family court system. Criminal Law Experience

Prior to becoming an attorney, RW graduated from North Carolina State University with bachelor degrees in both Business Management and Sports Management. He worked in the front office for the Carolina Mudcats minor league baseball team prior to being employed as a scientific research technician at NCSU.

RW attended law school at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas where he graduated with Dean's Honors. While in law school, he was on the Moot Court team as well as trying cases for the Washburn Law Clinic in the family law courts of Shawnee County. He also gained experience while working in the compliance section for the athletic department at Iowa State University.

After graduation, RW worked for the Kansas Attorney General's office in the Criminal Litigation Division before joining the Johnson County District Attorney's Office. He worked at the DA's office for over seven years serving in the traffic, domestic violence and drug sections. RW's skills were acknowledged when he was selected by District Attorney Steve Howe to serve as the Interim Drug Section Chief during his time in the drug unit. Additionally, he has served as Special Prosecutor for the Wyandotte County District Attorney's office. During his last four years as an Assistant District Attorney, RW taught criminal law to law enforcement officers at the Johnson County Police Academy.

RW has handled a variety of complex criminal law cases and has conducted over 30 jury trials as well as close to 100 bench trials. Those trials have included charges of Murder, Rape, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Domestic Battery, and Driving Under the Influence. RW is an experienced litigator who, in addition to jury trial experiences in District Court, has written appellate briefs and argued before the Kansas Court of Appeals and the Kansas Supreme Court.
